Contemporary Music Ministry
Revised Sept. 27, 2005

MISSION:

The Contemporary Music Ministry's mission is to lead singing and worship for the congregation attending the 7:00 pm liturgy on Sunday evening. The music selection is designed to be "upbeat", uplifting, as well as very prayerful. We encourage a high level of participation from the congregation and feel that we have succeeded when the congregation "makes a joyful noise unto the Lord". The choir provides an opportunity for high school age young adults and (not so young) adults to serve the parish through their joy in making music.

ELIGIBILITY:

Those who have completed the 8th grade (~14 years old) and love to sing or play an instrument are encouraged to audition. Instrumentalists (e.g. guitarists, keyboard, bass, percussion, etc.) are also encouraged to audition.

REHEARSALS:

Rehearsals are usually on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:45 pm in the Church. Setup, warm-up, and rehearsal starts at 5:30 PM on Sunday evenings (before Mass).

SCHEDULE FOR 2005-2006:

The group ministers at the 7:00 PM Mass throughout the year. In addition, we typically minister during the Parish Novenas, at youth oriented events (e.g. 2nd Grade Retreat, Confirmation, youth retreats, etc.), and through Praise and Worship nights.
