To recognize, and affirm talents in our children,
to create community, and to serve the church in the music ministry at 9:00 am Mass
at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church.
(More specifically… To create an environment of
caring and belonging to a church family among children grades 3-8 of our parish. We
will welcome, utilize and recognize individual talents, at whatever level, (vocal or
instrumental) as we engage in joyful, thankful praise and worship of our God who
unites us to Himself. We hope to lead the congregation as is spoken of in Psalm 8,
into "Perfect Praise that comes from the lips of children and infants".)
Rehearsals::
Every Tuesday after school except during February,
and April school vacations. Since schools dismiss between 2:30-3:15 pm there will be
variations on when all can arrive. We begin at 2:45 pm with snack, prayer and sharing
time. Actual rehearsal begins at 3:00 pm and will end at 4:30 pm. Sacred Heart choir
members will gather by the school office, and will be walked to the Church. All other
children will join us in the rehearsal room in the Church Hall as soon as they can
make it. All are welcome!
Expectations:
Children will love to sing, and use this gift to serve the
Lord with their best behavior, and attitude!
Children will be kind to one another, and support one another's efforts to do their best.
Children will come to all practices, and Masses unless excused in advance by the director, October-mid June.
Occasionally, Parents may be asked to sit in choir loft to help anyone who needs extra
"support".
If you want to participate regularly, "Protecting God's Child" courses are mandated. (See Claudette Dachowski for details, and times for this 2 hour course.)
