Confirmation Preparation
5th-8th Grade
Every component of Confirmation Preparation is essential, as each aims at leading the candidates to a better understanding of the sacrament of Confirmation and how they are called to be disciples of Jesus Christ. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that the sacrament "imprints on the soul an indelible spiritual mark, the 'character,' which is the sign that Jesus Christ has marked a Christian with the seal of his Spirit by clothing him with power from on high so that he may be his witness" (1304). Christ calls everyone to be a witness of the love of God and of the Christian faith, it is during this time of preparation that each candidate continues to learn what it means to be a witness for Christ and how they, in their own families, schools, and communities, can always act as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
