Lectors proclaim the Word of God and read the prayers of the faithful. The Lector also welcomes the worshipers and introduces the Mass before the liturgy and makes the announcements after communion as requested. Lectors should be comfortable speaking in front of a group, have careful annunciation, correct pronunciation, and be able to convey enthusiasm.

- Arrive at the Church 15 minutes before Mass begins
- Ability to be present at assigned liturgies or find a suitable replacement
